PTHS senior Cassie Watson has been selected as the December Carpentry Student of the Month by the Paducah Area Technical Center.

Watson has been a part of the carpentry program for two years. She became interested in the carpentry program after participating in a geometry unit taught by Jonathan Smith that involved designing and building holes for a miniature golf course her sophomore year.

"It's great learning about how to do things to make myself more self-sufficient", said Watson. "I like knowing that if a project needs to be done, that I can handle it."
